Fractal Explorer: Creating Your Own Fractals

Learning a program can be quite fun and rewarding, but can also be somewhat disarming. While there were a number of guides on the Internet that discussed Fractal Explorer, I felt that none of them did any great service to this great program. So, I set out to create my own guide, in a format that did not force a user to view only a small amount of information at a time.

Guides can be downloaded in Adobe PDF format only.

Interested in creating fractals? Then you may also be interested in Fractovia, one of the best collections of fractal programs around.

Hi James, I'm not sure if this is where I post a question but here goes.  I didn't save my first fractals as a 'fractal spot (*frs), I can pull up the file but when I tried to open it up on the FR program it won't show up. I wanted to make a larger copy of it. Is there anyway to retrieve it or have I lost it for good?

Thank you so much and again I'm sorry if this is no the correct place to ask questions.

Hi Patricia,

Unfortunately, if you didn't save the details out, but just the image, you are probably stuck.

Sorry I can't give you a positive answer ... :(
